ODDFELLOWS ARMS Chester Street, Cirencester GL7 1HF |
A backstreet pub maybe, but well worth seeking out. Convivial atmosphere with the added bonus of up to four pumps in action, three from Hook Norton plus a guest.
Brains' Rev. James / Hook Norton's Oddfellows Ale / Old Hooky
@ 3rd December 2009
|
OLD CROWN INN Uley GL11 5SN |
Recommendations come very high for this popular real ale venue with now up to six selections on the blackboard and good support for the acclaimed local village brewery. The remainder can be just about any brew in the country and change consistently - well worth making a trip for.
Butcombe Bitter / Harviestoun Schiehallion / Uley Pigs Ear / Wharfebank's Slingers Gold / Wickwar's Rite Flanker
@20th April 2010
|
OLD CROWN Paganhill, Stroud GL5 4AZ |
On the outskirts of Stroud but not quite a rural pub, with dining not as prominent as a lot of places. Ale choice does get altered around a bit, but no big surprises.
Bath's Gem / Butcombe Bitter / 6X
@ 21st March 2009
|
OLD FARMER'S ARMS Bishop's Cleeve GL52 8SA |
Very much a dining pub, but plenty of space if calling in just for a drink. Down to one pump only now with London Pride alternating with 6X, so not exactly a thriving real ale venue.
London Pride
@ 14th January 2010
|
OLD FORGE INN Whitminster GL2 7NY |
A nice homely pub with small restaurant and a good 'local' following. Butcome and IPA always around with two others, one being a constantly changing guest.
Butcombe Bitter / Davenport's Bardstail / Greene King IPA / St.Austell's Tribute
@ 23rd January 2010
|
OLD GEORGE South Cerney GL7 5TR |
Shaking off the unpredictable tag that the pub has worn for too long, a nice makeover by the present landlord has turned the corner into respectability and now providing three standard ales.
Otter Bitter / Wells' Bombardier / Wickwar's BOB
@ 7th May 2010
|
THE OLD LODGE Minchinhampton Common GL6 9AQ |
Situated in the middle of the Common, a complex of restaurant, function room and bar, complete with a reasonable selection of ales. Greene King is a favourite with the pub group but on the plus side there is support for local breweries as well. Three or four pumps with Stroud's Tom Long being 'turned round' on calling in.
Butcombe Bitter / Greene King's Abbot Ale / Sharp's Doom Bar
@ 9th March 2010
|
OLD SPOT Dursley GL11 4JQ |
An acclaimed venue in a traditional setting. With many ales from which to choose, ranging from the session beers up to the dizzy heights of 7% sometimes, this is a haven for beer lovers. Celebrating a Wadworth evening when we dropped by.
Harviestoun's Schiehallion / Wadworth Bishop's Tipple / Wadworth Henry IPA / Wadworth JCB / Wadworth Mildmays Mild / Wadworth St. George and the Dragon / Wadworth Strong in the Arm / Uley's Old Ric / Uley's Old Spot
@ 4th May 2010
