BEST OF THE BUNCH
A special mention for the pubs visited in the last month that have brought different ales to the fore.
- AIR BALLOON INN, Crickley Hill
From the Greene King Westgate Marque one of the World Cup brews, Back of the Net.
- BEAR AT RODBOROUGH, Rodborough
Stroud's help with the local hospice charity culminated in an ale named after its lottery; Grand in Your Hand. The Bear also featured a World Cup 2010 offering from Goffs.
- GOLDEN HEART, Nettleton Bottom
A nice change to see something a little different here with Northumberland's Sheepdog.
- HALFWAY HOUSE, Kineton
A special edition brew of the original Donnington recipe has been available this month and we tried the Founder's Ale in Kineton.
- LAMB INN, Eastcombe
The guest system finally off and running with Thwaites' Nutty Black.
- LOWER LODE INN, Lower Lode, Tewkesbury
Another Northumberland brew turning up, this time Bucking Fastard.
- RAGGED COT, Minchinhampton
Another 'footie' ale, this time Banks' Lion's Roar.
- YE OLDE BLACK BEAR, Tewkesbury
Two ales to the fore, Bateman's England Expects and Marston's EPA.
