HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Having found out about the RED LION at Criclade some while ago we had promised ourselves a trip there. Although not technically in our normal area of coverage, it was only a few extra minutes over into Wiltshire and we're glad we persevered. There were TEN real ales from just about everywhere PLUS ciders and continental beers. We immediately began our rather envious task of tasting some of them (except for the rather sad looking driver!) By the time we left at least two barrels had run dry (there were other drinkers there), pipes cleaned and replacements installed. Sat in front of a roaring log fire - the world seemed a better place. Now added to the site and to be visited many more times! Highly recommended.

BEST OF THE BUNCH
A special mention for the pubs visited in the last month that have brought different ales to the fore.
- AIR BALLOON, Birdlip
Greene King's ultra low abv ale (2.8%), Tolly English Ale, putting in an appearance.
- BUTCHER'S ARMS, Sheepscombe
Another of the Plain Brewery's output found here; Intrigue was an excellent pint.
- CHEESEROLLER, Shurdington
Peter Buxton, a stalwart of Gloucester Rugby, having his Buckos Brew marketed by Skinners and doing well in the county.
- DICK WHITTINGTON, Gloucester
Mainly recognisable brews on show making Skinner's Christmas Fairy the eye catcher when we called in.
- OLD CROWN INN, Paganhill
Continuing their Christmas with Brains' Festive Cheer.
- RED LION, Cricklade
Milestone's Green Man and Bristol Beer Factory's Independence among a constantly changing line-up.
